Amazing burgers at Charred Affair. The meat has an awesome smoky, chargrilled flavour that really stands out, and everything tastes fresh, juicy and well made. You can tell they care about flavour and quality, not just putting together another standard burger. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Hornsby and love proper smoky burgers.
So good! The burgers are delicious. Highly recommend the smoked wings, they are fantastic too! What a gem and great place to hang out.
Our daughter’s kindergarten is right next to this place, so I was always curious whenever we walked by. We finally tried it, and I’m so glad we did! Even though my English isn’t very good, the staff were incredibly kind — they brought us cushions, checked if we were warm enough, and made us feel so comfortable the whole time. And the burger… honestly, it was the best I’ve ever had in my life! “This hamburger is the most delicious I’ve ever had!” The fries were perfectly seasoned and so tasty, and the sweet potato chips were unbelievably good!!!! I’m writing this review and already craving it again The only thing to note is that since I came with my 3‑year‑old who is toilet‑training, we had to use the bathroom at the pet shop across the street because there isn’t one on site. ⭐ Second Visit We came back again, and the food is still just as amazing and the service is still just as kind. The taste never changes — it’s consistently delicious every time. Even though the owner is busy cooking, he always checks on us to make sure we’re okay and takes such good care of our daughter. This is the kind of burger place I need to eat at once or twice a week. Honestly, out of all the burgers I’ve had in both Korea and Australia — and in my whole life — this is number one!!! I was so touched when the owner said hello to us while I was picking up my daughter from kindergarten. (I really wanted to buy another burger right then, but I held back ) We’ll definitely be back again soon!!!
Got a crispy chicken burger, gourmet beef burger and a chocolate cookie. The chicken was actually so perfectly cooked. Beef burger was just a good normal burger, same with fries. Cookie was overrated, a tad on the sweet side (would be better warmed up). Owner was legit the nicest guy though . Would come again and get the crispy chicken burger.
Ditto to all the other 5 star reviews. You will not be disappointed by the burgers. I've had some of the best burgers around the world and Charred Affair takes the cake. Incredibly tasty, not oily nor greasy. The crispy chicken was had by wife and I whilst the kids shared a beef burger. Very generous portions with the delicious shoe string fries. We were blown away by this flavour bomb. Seriously good food and wonderful service. Thank you! We will be back for sure.
Mind blowing . A classic case of never judge a book by its cover. Best grilled Hamburgers on the North Shore. My family had the Classic Hamburger & Grilled Chicken Burger. The Fries served with the 3 meals were delicious and crispy cooked, serving size was perfect. The sauces & seasoning in the meals here is maybe the magic. The Hamburger has so many flavour elements to it and it’s super juicy. I had forgotten what it was like to have a Hamburger that’s dripping with flavour. When we visited it was very busy so we waited a fair time for our meals. The owner was super polite in explaining the delay but it was well worth the wait. Maybe the only comparison I can make related to the Hamburgers is it reminded me of American style flame grilled Hamburgers. I had so many friends in the area say Charred Affair was well worth the stop. They were not wrong. So nice eating outside in the Winter sun, the atmosphere here suites the meals. 5 Big Burgers as extra review points
Incredible, must visit burger joint. The owners are cheerful, considerate and passionate about their food and service, evident by their greetings upon our arrival and their checking up to make sure our food was enjoyable (something I’ve only ever experienced at ‘pricey’ restaurants). We ordered the Gourmet Beef Burger and Kale Burger which came with chips, as well as 2 Oreo chocolate cookies. The burgers were nothing less than fantastic, and the beef was personally the best beef I’ve ever had in a burger. It was perfectly cooked, flavourful and *actually* tasted of high quality delicious beef - each bite just got better and better! The chips were of a large portion and well seasoned, I couldn’t actually even finish my share. The cookies were huge as well! Ate one and saved the other for later. And for anyone visiting for the first time, the burger van is essentially in the front yard of a house on the corner of the intersection, just walk through one of the two gates to enter and have a seat :) I will 100% be back with friends next time I get the chance, thanks for the experience! Edit: 2 days after reviewing this place I just had to return for dinner - on god they don’t miss. Crispy Chicken Burger is the CRUNCHIEST chicken ever, regardless of dish type. And the biscoff cookie is my new favourite!!
First time here, don’t know why we didn’t come sooner, always drive past! Owner is polite and asks how everything was. Burgers was delicious! I had the kale and quinoa burger, and chips that comes with it is so generous, very well seasoned! Owner even gave a small truffle sauce for ya to have with chips! Will come back again, need to try the buffalo wings.
